About the Broker
- Feb 25, 2009
My name is Dennis L. Jones and I am a licensed Arizona Real Estate Broker.
I have made my living in the real estate business full-time since 2001. Prior to my real estate career, I worked for several computer software and Internet companies in various sales and sales management positions.
I was born in Ohio and was raised in the Cleveland suburbs. I moved away from Cleveland before the Rock-and-Roll Hall of fame was built, but have made it back to visit several times. It helps that my parents still live there! In addition, I lived a few years in the Pacific Northwest (Seattle), but have called Arizona home for over 23 years.
I live in one of the most beautiful communities in the southwest, just north of Phoenix…a place called Anthem. It is a “Master Planned Community” and was voted the BEST Master Planned Community by the National Association of Home Builders 2 years in a row. Anthem’s a great place to call home, and yes…you could call it home as well. Just ask me how!
After refining my real estate knowledge with other companies, I followed the American dream by opening my own business in 2005, as a self-employed Broker. Plugging along diligently…without every looking back…my business has grown at a steady and manageable pace. While my personal real estate sales have exceeded $70,000,000 in transaction volume, I prefer to measure my success by the hundreds of families who have allowed me to represent them in their search for their dream home or the sale of their existing residence.
My wife joined me full-time in 2007, as well as many other professional real estate agents who work as my “Associates” while I support them as their Broker. It is no longer about “me”…we are a team.
This “Blog” was created in my mind many months before it appeared on the Internet. Over that time, I wrestled with the purpose, the look, the technology and the most burning question of all…”Why do I want to start a blog?” I mean…who’s going to read it? Why will anyone read it? And just in case someone does read it…what would I say to them?
It all came together for me one afternoon while I was sitting in a continuing education real estate class on property disclosure. The instructor took a few minutes at the end of his class to talk about blogs and how they could be used effectively in a real estate business. It was that little “push” that nudged me over the edge and the blog was launched within a few days.
I have several hobbies and interests that fill the small amount of spare time I have. I love to watch my daughter play basketball. I love to read non-fiction books. You will find an electric guitar in my hands most every night…usually too late to play it as loud as I would like. I enjoy a glass of fine wine with dinner. My favorite TV show was (and still is) “The Andy Griffith Show”. I also love to play golf, but my wife would say that I am lying. She says I never play, but the truth is…I have a hard time carving out 5 hours from the day to play…so I don’t play.
I hope you enjoy reading what I have to say. I promise to do my best to keep the topics fresh, real estate-related and highly educational. Just don’t take me too seriously…after all…this is only “One Broker’s Opinion”. And the opinion is mine!
